Bluetooth, in sync: earbuds, headphones and speakers on one beat.
SynkEngine plays the same song on every phone in the room, in sync. New: switch a phone to its Bluetooth earbuds or headphones and it stays on the party's beat; pair a Bluetooth speaker to any phone and it joins the beat. Here is how, in 82 seconds.
Bluetooth adds a delay of its ownA fraction of a second between the phone and the device, and a different one on every pair of earbuds, every headset, every speaker. In a room of phones playing on one beat, that phone falls behind.
Earlier, the moment it connectsSynkEngine times the Bluetooth device the moment it connects and moves that phone's music earlier to match.
It asks once: earphones, or a speaker?Earphones are yours alone; a speaker plays for the room. SynkEngine asks the first time a device connects and remembers the answer, and the device's timing, per device.
Your ear fine-tunes itIf it still sounds a touch off, tap "Do I sound wrong?": 5 ms a tap, remembered for that device.
A Bluetooth speaker joins the beatPair it to any phone and say "a speaker". No speaker is needed; if there's one, it joins.
Switch mid-songPut the earbuds in halfway through: the phone rejoins the party at its place, with every other device still playing.
Where it matters

No. Every phone is the speaker: the phones you already have play the same song at the same instant. If there is a Bluetooth speaker, pair it to any phone, tell SynkEngine it's a speaker, and it joins the beat.
Why does Bluetooth sound late at all?
Bluetooth adds a delay of its own between the phone and the device, a fraction of a second, and it's different on every pair of earbuds, every headset and every speaker. That's why a Bluetooth device in a synced party needs its own timing.
What does "it asks once" mean?
The first time a Bluetooth device connects in a party, SynkEngine asks whether it is earphones or a speaker. It remembers the answer, and the device's timing, for that device; you can change it any time in the menu.
What if my earbuds still sound a bit off?
Tap "Do I sound wrong?" on your phone: each tap moves your sound by 5 ms, and SynkEngine remembers the number for those earbuds. The next time they connect, it starts from there.
Can I switch to my earbuds in the middle of a song?
Yes. The phone rejoins the party at its place, and the other phones and the speaker never stop playing.
Does this work on Windows too?
SynkEngine for Windows joins the same party as the phones. The Bluetooth timing described here is the Android app's; a PC on Bluetooth is tuned by ear from the same card.
When can I get it?
The alpha opens on 11/11 at 11:11 and the official launch is 12/12 at 12:12 (Mauritius, GMT+4). Request the app on synkengine.com; SynkEngine is on Android and Windows now, and iPhone is coming.
The poster
Mimi & Coco at sunset, headsets on. The same picture is on our channels in 9:16 and 4:5; the vertical cut of the film is on TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
What the film says is what the app does in 6.61: the timing the moment a Bluetooth device connects, the question asked once, the number remembered per device, a speaker that joins the beat, the rejoin mid-song. The 0.22 s drawn in the film is an illustration of "a fraction of a second", not a measurement. More on how it's built: the geek corner.
